Campus

The Campus located at about 30 Kms from the Koti on the Srisailam road, in Sylvan surroundings against the backdrop of a range of mountains, the Institute is spread over an undulating area of about 25 acres. It overlooks an area filled with orchids and farms. Nearly a hundred trees have been planted in the campus, and a watershed percolation tank has been provided to add to the water table. The campus provided an idyllic pollution free environment for nurturing excellence.

The Institute is in vicinity of major High Technology institutions like the Fab City, Nano Technology Park, Hardware Park, Research Centre Imarat (RCI), the Defence Research and Development Laboratory (DRDL), the Defence Electronics Research and Development Laboratory (DERL) and other units of the Defence Research Metallurgical Research Organisation (DMRL) and DRDO. are also located nearby. Among other industries , the Astra Microwave Products(AMP), and Videocon, Internationally famous organizations are also located in the midst of a High Technology Industrial belt. The college has already initiated plans to take advantage of its location to provide vital inputs to the students of the college

 

Library

The College Library has about 15,000 books, in addition there are a number of journals and technical magazines which enable the students to improve their General knowledge in the area of specialization. The library also stocks a number of subject CD's. There is a facility for the students to borrow a CD or get it copied at a nominal price. Internet facility are also provided in the library, with a provision that they are used strictly for Academic purposes.

ENGLISH LANGUAGE LAB:

As the need of language acquisition and communication skills among the professional students is very much felt, we have established a full-fledged English Language Lab in our Institution.

OBJECTIVE:

           v     To develop communication skills, especially listening comprehension and   

                      speaking.

v     To train the students to acquire fluency in thought and elaboration skills.

            v     To prepare the students to take up tests such as TOEFL, GRE, IELTS, NELTS

                   and other foreign university entry eligibility tests.

 

MODULES:

v     The teaching modules will be based on International English Language Testing Service (IELTS) and other reputed testing services like NELTS, TOEFL, etc.

 METHODOLOGY:

    v     Individual programmed learning.

v     Specific skill development like listening, speaking and reading.

v     Training the students to use the language for specific purposes

v     Using imitation method.

v     Training by given specific situations for improving verbal ability.

DEPARTMENT OF COMPUTER SCIENCE & ENGINEERING

With globalization of the Indian economy, vast opportunities of growth have been thrown open for the computer software and hardware industry. Software being one of the largest growing sectors of the Indian economy, the Department of Computer Science & Engineering at the NCET has been at the forefront of churning out software engineers with a high caliber of technical expertise. It continues to foster and engender the innovation and breadth of vision necessary to excel in the blooming software industry. The experienced faculty exposes the would be computer engineers to a rigorous and exhaustive curriculum designed to bring out the best in them and to keep them in touch with the latest state of the art technology.

Besides imparting theoretical knowledge, a lot of stress is laid on hands-on training and overall, development of the individual's personality. The teaching programme has been devised keeping in view close interaction with the industry. The competence of the department is reflected in the growing demand for its fresh graduates. The number of recruiting companies has multiplied many fold in the last few years.

The department strongly believes that neither the industry, nor the academics alone have the resources to adequately deal with the quest for innovative excellence in this field of computers, for global competitiveness. Hence the Institute-Industry interface programme enables the students to interact constantly with the industries. Equal importance is given to the classroom learning which is meant primarily for the theoretical or conceptual inputs of knowledge on a variety of projects.

The department has excellent computing facilities which include Pentium IV based computer systems, scanners, servers, multimedia kits etc.

We have Four  hundred and Ten(410) Pentium IV systems with 15" Color Monitors.  All the 410 computer systems are networked to main servers. The server have a capacity of 160GB HDD, & 2 GB RAM. For the back up support we have two UPS of 3 KVA capacity with 2 hours backup support are Installed.

The operating system platform is Windows 2003, Fedora and Redhat Linux on Server and Windows XP on client systems. Other Software programs such as MS Office, C++ and other tools have been installed.

PRINTERS: Twenty Seven (32) Printers provided.


COMPUTER LAB:

ELECTRONIC DEVICES & CIRCUITS LAB

Fully equipped EDC Lab available with ample experimental and guidance facilities. The EDC lab is equipped to accommodate 30 students at a time.
